Our Story: History & Development

Goshen International Academy (GIA) evolved from the former Mercyland Academy, which was originally established at House 8, Road 142, off 14th Avenue, Gwarinpa, Abuja. The school operated under that name until 2007, when it was acquired by Engr. and Mrs. Dom Onoh from the founding owners, Bishop and Mrs. Kawas.

In the year following the acquisition, the new management operated the school as Mercyland Academy, utilizing the same name and location. This transitional period (2007–2008) allowed the new leadership to fully understand the school's structure, culture, facilities, regulatory compliance status, parent-teacher association (PTA) dynamics, and overall operational environment.

Then, in February 2008, a new chapter began: Goshen International Academy (GIA) was officially launched as a rebranded and revitalized institution, formally registered with the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) under Registration Number RC 733816.

Today, Goshen International Academy stands as a leading institution in Abuja, committed to academic excellence, character development, and global readiness — a testament to visionary leadership and unwavering dedication to quality education.
